Pond management
We look at chemical and biological oxygen demand, nutrients, and the plants in the water before we choose a product or a schedule.

Algae and aquatic weeds
Invasive algae and weeds are unsightly and, depending on the species, can threaten fish and people. Identifying the target plant matters. We identify the plant, then apply the right product at the right rate and time.
Treatments are applied by Blaine, who holds an Indiana aquatic pesticide applicator license.
Water quality and oxygen demand
Excess phosphorus and nitrogen drive blooms, poor clarity, odor, and stress on aquatic life. Dissolved oxygen, pH, and alkalinity matter just as much. Chemical and biological oxygen demand at a given moment tells us the current condition — and how likely issues are to develop. The ratios between those numbers point to the treatment that will address the problem.
What pond management includes
Pond Life Consulting treats nuisance vegetation and algae and monitors water quality. The goal is clearer water, room for desirable plants, habitat for fish and wildlife, and a pond you can use for swimming and fishing.
Ask Blaine about a pond evaluation. We will walk the shoreline, talk through what you are seeing, and recommend aeration, treatment, or both instead of a one-size-fits-all program.
Seasonal service
We schedule treatments from spring through fall based on what we find at each visit.
We also manage stormwater and detention ponds for HOAs and commercial properties. Stormwater and detention ponds.
